The other day Trevor put on my glasses, my shoes, my keys, and my Superman hat and started walking around the house. When I was asked what he was doing, he said he was pretending to be Daddy, and he was going to work, to save the world. His hands clutched onto my keys with the biggest smile on his face.
Gabrielle told me recently she loves to wrestle with me. I asked her why and she said it was like a hug of war. The smile she gave me was the one of the purest moments she's ever given me. Her eyes sparkled as she smiled at me, the happiest girl with her Daddy.
I got home tonight carrying in my 50lb back pack, work folder and laptop, and 3 special toy ornaments the kids could actually play with. As I came in the house my youngest Alex was playing with Ann in front of the couch, and as I put my things down Alex feels me as he always does when I enter a room and turns to face me. He took 6 steps and walked right to me burying his face in my chest and pulling himself up to me.
How did I ever deserve these kids? It breaks me when I think about it.
